Coolstore Construction & Packhouses

Coolstores & Packhouses

From apples and kiwifruit to wine, South Island growers trust us to protect the harvest. We design, supply and install long-term coolstores, controlled-atmosphere and ULO-ready rooms, ripening rooms and dispatch areas, engineered to hold tight temperatures through the busiest pack season and built to be staged around harvest.

What we build

We build the full sequence a packhouse needs, from intake to load-out:

  • Long-term coolstores for season-long storage
  • CA and ULO-ready rooms with sealed, gas-tight detailing
  • Ripening rooms for controlled ripening
  • Dispatch and load-out areas to keep product moving
  • Food-grade panel throughout
  • Staged coordination with your refrigeration and CA equipment trades so capacity keeps running

Specifications

The spec is set by the crop and the storage regime rather than a standard figure:

  • Temperature and humidity tuned to the crop, since apples, kiwifruit and wine all behave differently
  • Gas-tight build on CA and ULO-ready rooms
  • Panel sized for long-hold energy efficiency rather than fast pull-down
  • Modular design so you can add rooms or CA zones later
  • Finishes export and RMP-ready hygiene
  • Staging builds planned so existing capacity runs through the pack season

Industries we serve

We work with Canterbury, Marlborough and Nelson horticulture, covering pipfruit, kiwifruit, wine and vegetables, and with growers and packers scaling up for export.

Recent project
